Impact towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.

With our holistic program along the entire agricultural value chain Seedloans supports reaching four different Sustainable Development Goals.

SDG 1: No Poverty

Women harvest more crops and can sell them at fair market prizes. Through the possibility to sell more of their harvest to us, they are guaranteed higher, steady prices through our partners and do not depend on the price volatility of the market.

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

Subsistence farmers grow mainly for their own consumption. Due to a larger quantity and higher quality of seeds, female farmers of Seedloans have a higher harvest and hence more food for the family. Women stay for several seasons with us. Over time they will receive different seed varieties that enrich the family’s diet, provide additional income and allow the build-up of humus for better sustainability.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

Seedloans works exclusively with women. As gender inequalities are still deeply rooted in every society, we aim to empower women to bring about change in their families and communities. Seedloans female farmers are organized in groups of women where they can regularly meet, support each other and exchange thoughts on agricultural practices, household dynamics and the like.

SDG 15: Life on Land (Sustainable Agriculture)

Every female farmer who takes part in Seedloans will receive extensive training on improved agricultural practices following principles of sustainability. Opportunities for crop rotation and intercropping should enable them to foster a nutritious land in harmony with their environment.
